Haim have today (24th April 2025) announced details of their forthcoming fourth album 'I Quit' and released a new single named 'Down to Be Wrong'.
The news of the album first arrived last night (April 23rd) where the band took to the sage at The Bellwether in LA. These two shows marked the bands fist gigs since September 2023. At the shows the band announced that the record will be named 'I Quit' and will see them reunite with producer Rostam Batmanglij.
The band have already released two songs from the album ‘Everybody’s Trying To Figure Me Out’ and ‘Relationships’. 'Down to Be Wrong' is the albums third single.
'I Quit' will release on June 20th.
Haim have already revealed some details about their forthcoming album. In an interview with the I-D the band said "Gone’. It is the opening track to the album, and reportedly captures the feeling of clarity after a breakup. “You can hate me for what I am/You can shame me for what I’ve done/You can’t make me disappear/You never saw me for what I was,” Danielle sings over chugging guitar.
From there, a sample of the gospel chant from George Michael’s ‘Freedom ’90’ comes in – although it hasn’t actually been cleared by the late artist’s team yet.
“Everything’s gonna figure out,” Alana said of the sample usage.
Danielle went on to say how the song also took inspiration from another pop icon. “I was listening to the Beyoncé album, and I was really inspired by all the different samples,” she explained. “It doesn’t feel ‘Fuck you’ to me—it feels like… ‘I’m gonna do my thing.’”
Alana told the outlet that it is “the closest we’ve ever gotten to how we wanted to sound,” and saw the trio have a “completely different experience” recording compared to previous albums.
'Women in Music Pt III' was one of my favourite albums of 2020, a real eclectic record, that sawt the sisters embrace a whole host of sounds and styles to create a brilliant collection of songs. I'm definitely excited to see where they go next.
Having heard the singles, it's safe to say I'm impressed.
Haim also have a number of live shows planned for 2025, including slots at Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2025, and Primavera Sound in Barcelona and Porto.
It's set to be a busy few months.
