About
Welcome to Beyond the Grooves, an independently run music site celebrating music past and present.
Founded on Instagram in September 2019, Beyond the Grooves expanded into a full website in January 2023. Expect album and concert reviews, music news, long-form features, Song Stories, festival coverage and deep dives into the artists, records and scenes that matter.
Along the way, Beyond the Grooves has been viewed and shared by artists including Jamie Webster, Liam Fray, Gerry Cinnamon, Blossoms, Young Fathers, Rick Astley, Wolf Alice, Fatboy Slim and Elton John.
What started in a student-house bedroom has grown considerably, but the idea remains the same: writing about music because I genuinely love it.
