Musical Icon: Wolf Alice

Musical Icons
Wolf Alice

Wolf Alice have emerged in the last 7 years and have become one of the best bands in the U.K.. Three albums into there career they have made their way further up festival bills and into bigger venues.

There music is getting bigger and better too. Ellie Roswell seems more confident and self assured with her song writing. ‘Blue Weekend’ the bands latest record is nothing short of a masterpiece. That’s not to say that there previous efforts ‘Visions of A Life and My Love is Cool’ aren’t. ‘Blue Weekend’ just elevated the band to another level.

Some bands or artists in this list have been around for decades. Others I’ve seen live multiple times. Wolf Alice are neither of those. However they are still musical icons in my opinion. I fell in love with their debut album ‘My Love is Cool’ and have been a fan ever since. They are unlike any other band I listen to, I can’t put them into a genre, there music is multi faceted and layered. I genuinely love all of their songs. As they are all so different.

‘Smile’ and ‘The Last Man on Earth’ are nothing alike and yet they are on the same album. ‘Yuk Foo’ and ‘Heavenward’ are the same.

They are a band who will only continue to get bigger and better. A band I love and for that reason they make my list of music icons.
