Following the announcement of ‘Rebel Diamonds’ a celebration of 20 years of The Killers, live dates were always going to be next on the agenda for the band.
Yesterday, December 1st 2023 the band announced U.K. Tour Dated for 2024. With a conveniently sized Glastonbury hole. More on that later…
Announcing dates in Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester and London. With the potential to add more dates, it could go on to become a behemoth tour. One thing I am shocked about though is the size of the venues. The Killers have picked arenas. Last time the band were in the UK, touring the album ‘Imploding the Mirage.’ They took to some of the biggest stadiums in the U.K.
With this tour next year being in June & July I’m surprised they didn’t do the same again. However I am certainly glad that The Killers are back, and with them being one of the last bands to tick off on ‘My List’ excuse the pun! I will definitely be trying for tickets next Friday !
Now back to the Glastonbury point… I cannot look past that huge gap in those dates, The Killers have headlined twice before, but the last time was five years ago. Is that too soon maybe, the Arctic Monkeys headlined in 2007 and then again in 2013. Coldplay 2011 and then 2016 it’s been done before. Could Glastonbury book them again. Maybe?
Of course that gap doesn’t guarantee anything, there’s plenty of other artists that have already announced tours for next year, and they too have Glastonbury sized holes in there schedule. I’m sure we will find out soon whose taking to the stage at Worthy Farm
