Indie Bangers, Cheap Flights and Stupid Court Cases

I am sure you have all heard about what’s going on with Easy Life.
The Leicester indie band have been issued with a court case from budget airline Easy Jet.

Yeah you’ve read that right, Easy Jet, have claimed they own the name Easy Life. The band are going to be forced to change their name or face a legal battle with a huge company.

We found out this information from a statement the band put out yesterday. Which can be seen below.

Now I’m by no means the biggest Easy Life fan in the world, but even I can see this is a joke. Musicians, artists and bands already have difficulties in this current climate. Grass roots venues are closing almost every day, Brexit has made it difficult for bands to tour in Europe. Streaming has made it harder for bands to earn from record sales alone. Now bands have got to contend with huge companies like Easy Jet. It’s ridiculous.

What’s next! Jaws being sued by Steven Spielberg, Wolf Alice being sued by Lewis Carroll’s family, or how about Gun’s N Roses suing Ian Brown and the lads. Or a drinks company suing the brothers Gallagher. I shouldn’t joke, but is that what’s it coming to.

Easy Life have worked hard to get to where they are, they aren’t a new band. They have been working hard and releasing music for a number of years. This Easy Jet news is a huge smack in the face for the lads. All because a budget airline think they own the word ‘Easy’

It’s mental!
