I’ll Die in the House I Grew Up In

January 19th 2024, we received some new music from Sam Fender. In the form of a collaboration, with American singer Noah Kahan.

The pair rework, Kahan’s 2022 song ‘Homesick’ with both of them taking vocal duties. Sam even wrote a new verse for the song. About his upbringing in South Shields.

In the song Kahan talks about his difficult relationship with his hometown in New England, Sam does the same about his relationship with Shields. Portraying the same struggle from both sides of the Atlantic.

Sam describes how he wrote his part of the song, “I cut my parts in North Shields, on the banks of the Tyne, literally overlooking the ‘static cranes’ that I mention in my verse; it’s a stone’s throw from the estate in which the riots took place in the early 90’s. It made me proud of my hometown, and my people..”

Give this tune a listen. It’s brilliant.
