Peace announced a return to music, on October 25th with the first single ‘Happy Cars’ from the upcoming album ‘Utopia’ being released onto streaming platforms.
‘Utopia’ has been out for a little while on a secret website. Which fans can get access to after buying a ticket to the bands upcoming tour. The band were told that doing this would be career suicide but it seems to have done the opposite. It has created a sense of intrigue and suspense around the album. Which is very different to what we know the band for.
The album will be available for fans to buy on vinyl, from November 2nd and the band will hit the road on the following day. Staring the U.K. tour in Bath, before heading to Birmingham, Leeds, Southampton, Manchester, Leeds and London
‘Happy Cars’ will have a familiar feel to fans though. It’s classic Peace. A brilliant slice of indie pop. The song has been described by the band as a ‘thrilling evolution of Peace’s classic sound’ I’d agree with that. It sounds like Peace but it’s Peace in 2023 not 2013. The song has everything you’d expect but still sounds fresh.
It’s good to see Peace back, even if they are two men down. They’re a band that flew under the radar over the previous decade. But believe me they’ve released some absolute indie gems, and ‘Happy Cars’ is another one.
