The Story of All Things Must Pass:
I’ve made no secret that George Harrison, is my favourite out of all of The Beatles and I also think he had the best solo career.
‘All Things Must Pass’ is the title track from George’s debut album. Originally suggested for The Beatles album ‘Let It Be’ the band chose to regret the song, George went on to record a number of versions of the song. One is even present on The Beatles ‘Anthology’ album before deciding on a final version.
The version which features on the album features a host of musicians including Ringo Starr, Billy Preston and Eric Clapton. George liked to surround himself with the best people and it shows! It’s one of his best solo efforts and I still can’t believe The Beatles rejected it.
It’s a beautiful song about, the passing of time, and how nothing lasts forever. George himself has said the song is about the end of relationship. However I feel the song can be applied to life itself. Good and bad times come and pass, life must go on.
Thank you for reading
