Lovesick is the 3rd song on Peace's debut album 'In Love' and it describes young love and lust perfectly in a 2 minute pop song.

Harry the lead singer of Peace discusses all of the things he doesn't want to do.

I don't wanna go to school
I don't wanna take the call

I don't wanna move my head
Laying round a dying bed
I don't wanna listen

I don't wanna make no sense
I don't wanna pay the rent

He is totally fixated, some could say Lovesick with the songs main character. Each verse ends with Harry saying.

I wanna get lovesick with you
or And get lovesick with you

He is obsessed with the other person he is talking about, and that is sometimes what being in love is, you are totally focused on the other person who you are in love with. At certain times nothing else matters. Peace managed to sum up this feeling in a simple yet brilliant two minute indie pop song.

But Lovesick is just one gem in In Love, an album that’s often hailed as a modern classic within the indie pop scene. Released in 2013, In Love explores a range of emotions tied to love and youth, with each song offering a fresh perspective on relationships. The album features a rich blend of jangly guitars, dreamy synths, and infectious hooks that perfectly mirror the highs and lows of young adulthood.

Tracks like California Daze deliver a sense of sun-soaked nostalgia, evoking images of carefree days spent with friends, while Bloodshake pulsates with a frenetic energy that captures the excitement and chaos of youthful romance. The hauntingly beautiful Follow Baby showcases the band’s punkier side, diving into the vulnerability that often accompanies falling in love. The album flows seamlessly, creating a cohesive listening experience that feels like a journey through the complexities of youth.

Despite its brilliance, In Love has sometimes been overlooked in discussions of iconic indie albums. Yet, its sharp lyricism and dreamy melodies have a lasting charm that makes it truly special. It captures moments of youth that feel fleeting yet unforgettable—the kind of memories you want to hold onto forever.

That’s why when I found out that Peace are reuniting for some shows, I was absolutely over the moon. Or perhaps, to borrow from another of their songs, Higher than the Sun! To have the chance to hear these incredible tracks live again, to relive those moments of nostalgia and joy, feels like a gift to fans who have held onto the band’s music as a soundtrack to their lives.
